Lack of funding is one major barrier for Deaf leaders being trained in the field they’ve been called to. Ministries may be surprised by a request and/or interpreting costs are not reflected in  their budget. We earnestly want Deaf leaders to be able to step into God’s calling on their lives.

We are addressing this barrier by creating a Mission Minded Interpreter Fund through the proceeds of Sonshine School training content. The fund allows us to match, supplement or cover interpreter costs. 

We are rejoicing over the fact that there is an increasing number of Deaf leaders and missionaries who are pursuing opportunities that require interpreters. Additionally, camps, conferences, and events are desiring to create access for Deaf attendees but do not have the funds. Cost is the greatest barrier to serving these needs.

Mission Minded Interpreters help remove barriers so the Deaf community can be equipped and served well for what God has in store for them. Sonshine provides discounts and matching money together with Mission-Minded Interpreters who are willing to raise support and/or reduce their rates to serve these needs.
